Clinical and Direct Service Positions

PROGRAM MANAGER, CASEMANAGEMENT:  This full time position provides a full array of services to consumers in our Case Management program. This includes assessment, treatment planning, linking consumers to appropriate services, advocating on their behalf, providing support, client-centered consultations, doing community based outreach, monitoring effectiveness of treatment, and providing crisis services as needed. Master’s degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, or family therapy is required, as well as education/experience to be able to function as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional). Previous experience working with the seriously and persistently mentally ill population, as well as documented supervisory experience, is highly recommended.

OUTPATIENT THERAPISTS:  Full time positions available, working with children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing a mental illness or substance abuse disorder. Responsibilities include: crisis intervention, assessment, counseling, treatment planning, case management, outpatient therapy, and client-centered consultation. Masters degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, or family therapy, the ability to obtain certification or licensure within 2 years, as well as education/experience to be able to function as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional), are required. Licensure as an LPHA is highly recommended. Previous experience working with the target populations is highly recommended.

EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST:  This full time position is responsible for assisting consumers in obtaining and maintaining successful employment through the agency’s IPS program. Bachelor’s degree in human service field highly recommended; five years of direct employment related work experience will be considered. The ability to work with seriously and persistently mentally ill, substance abusing, or dually diagnosed populations, is highly recommended.

NEW POSITIONS - PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST(S):  These NEW 18 hour per week positions will be responsible for identifying needs and activities, supporting and mentoring Heritage consumers, and advocating on behalf of participants navigating the mental health and other systems. High school diploma or equivalent, minimum 21 years of age, self-identified as a person in recovery from mental illness and committed to his/her own recovery, plus the willingness to work with people who are attempting to recover from a serious and persistent mental illness, are required. Valid State of Illinois ID is required; valid drivers license, reliable automobile, and proof of insurance, are highly recommended.

RESIDENTIAL SPECIALISTS:  Full and part-time positions available providing paraprofessional counseling and monitoring of individuals in our Clay Street, Orchard Street Group Home, Lindwood, Safehaven, crisis/detox, and residential rehabilitation facilities. All facilities require regular weekend hours. High school diploma or equivalent, minimum 21 years of age, plus the flexibility to work with both mentally ill and substance abusing individuals, is required.

Administrative/Clerical Positions

MIS SPECIALIST:  This full time position provides Help Desk support for Windows, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Clinicians Desktop, etc., and various computer and server hardware; will analyze information system needs and configure and install new PC’s and peripherals. Windows Network & Server experience a plus; working knowledge of Microsoft Access and/or SQL preferred. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred; proven ability to work independently is required. Exceptional technical experience in computer hardware/software is essential..

ADMINISTRATIVE CLINICAL FINANCIAL SPECIALIST:  Full time positions have responsibilities which include data entry, word processing skills, insurance billing, basic bookkeeping, scheduling, typing, and records management.. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, be detail oriented, have 2-5 years of office related experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the flexibility to relate with a positive attitude to a wide variety of people and situation. High school diploma or equivalent is required.


All Heritage positions require a valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable means of transportation.  In addition, criminal and DCFS background checks, and pre-employment drug test are required prior to employment.
