medication assisted treatment (MAT)
What is MAT?
MAT stands for medication-assisted treatment. It is used to treat opioid use disorders. Medication is used, in addition to counseling and behavioral therapy, to treat opioid use disorders. The medication is part of the treatment, but NOT the treatment itself.
