Heritage Behavioral Health Center operates several residential group homes throughout Decatur, IL. These homes assist individuals with serious and persistent mental illness to remain in the community while regaining daily skills to assist them to move into independent permanent housing.

 

The residential group homes are not intended to be permanent, long-term residence. Some individuals, based upon the severity of their illness, may live in one of the Heritage group homes for an extended period of time, with the intent to help them achieve the highest level of recovery possible and become as independent and self-sufficient as possible. We believe those living in our group homes should reside in the setting that is the least intensive and restrictive possible.

​Skill Building

Heritage provides skill building with an emphasis on the evidence-based practice of Illness Management and Recovery and Cognitive Therapy- Recovery. Skill development services emphasize assisting individuals to learn/develop skills that will allow them to become more self-sufficient and independent.
